Ander's 18 Month Check-up

Ander had his 18 month check-up last week and he weighed 28 lbs. and his height was 33.1 inches. He was 75th percentile for weight and 80th percentile for height, so he is one big boy, but perfect, of course.
Ander also went to nursery for the first time last week and he did awesome! He played so well with the other kids and he even got hit a few times, but he just brushed it off. yay for that! What a difference it is to not have to hold him still all through Sunday School and Relief Society!
We also bought Ander his first potty just so he can get used to seeing it and knowing that it is his special chair. Who knows when he will show any interest in actually using it, but at least we have it when he does.
I love this age, it is so much fun to see Ander learning to talk and show me things. It is also one of the hardest ages so far too, but i am trying to be better with having more patience and just letting things go. We have been trying to discipline Ander more this past week (per our pediatricians request) and it has not been working very much. We try to put him in "time out" and he just laughs and thinks we are being funny, so it is really hard not to laugh with him. I am sure it will get easier the older he gets, right? :)

$200 Bad Idea...

I have been wanting to get out and do something fun with Chuck and Ander and so i suggested to Chuck that we stay in a hotel one night where we can go swimming and watch movies. Chuck thought it seemed like a good idea too so he booked a night at Little America for us lastnight. We got to our room around 2:30 pm and Ander usually takes a nap at 2:00, so we tried to have him take a nap in the portable crib in our hotel room. It did not happen. Ander was too excited to be in a new place and wanted to roam around. I knew that if he did not take a nap, we would be in trouble when we went out later. We went to dinner at Z Tajas at the Gateway and it was pretty good and then i wanted some cookies at Ben's cookies and while we were waiting for more cookies to come out of the oven, Ander just wanted to run around everywhere. Both Chuck and I had bad headaches and were exhausted by the time we got to our room, and we still had not gone swimming yet. We went swimming and that was actually fun, but Ander was pretty grumpy after, since he was so tired. He finally went to sleep at 8:00 and i was so tired and not feeling well, that i fell asleep at 9:00. Chuck ended up just watching part of a pay per view movie, which was a waste of money, but oh well. Ander woke us in the morning at 6:00 am and he was yelling and whining and we were worried about the people staying next door to us, so we decided to pack up and leave. We were planning on going to their yummy brunch later that morning with my sister and her husband, but instead we left and got home at 7:30 am. So, we could have done all we did without spending $200 on a hotel room, we won't be doing that again, but at least we tried to do something different and it could have been worse.

Climbing Stairs

We finally decided it was time for Ander to learn how to climb up and down our stairs since he kept throwing things down them and we would have to keep going to retrieve them. We have had a gate up, so we took it down and slowly taught Ander how to climb down the stairs. He seemed to have it down pretty well, but then when i was in the bathroom for 2 seconds, i heard him fall all the way down the stairs. I was horrified and ran to get him and he was surprisingly just fine, which i could not believe. You would have thought that Ander would have learned something from this, but "oh no", he fell down the stairs again just a few minutes later when i was in the bathroom for 2 seconds again!! I could not believe it! I felt so bad, but again, he was just fine and was just a little scared. Of course, after that i decided to put the gate back up and give Ander some more training before we take it down again. I know almost every kid has fallen down the stairs, but it is sure horrifying to hear and see. I guess every kid has to learn some way. I have pics of Ander climbing the stairs and they are so cute, so i will post them when i can.

Late Valentine's Day Post

I really wanted to write about my Valentine's day, so i will just have to post all of my pics later when my computer gets fixed.
Chuck really surprised me this year with 2 gift certificates for massages, a box of Godiva chocolate covered strawbwerries, 2 pairs of really cute and expensive jeans and capris, and the cutest card ever! What a sweet husband i have! I took pics of all of my presents because they were wrapped so cute. We were also able to go to dinner and a movie that weekend too, so it was a very good Valentine's day for me. I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband!

Ten years ago I was- 21 years old and living in a townhouse with 6 other girls, 2 of which were my good friends. I was working and living with my best buddy Jenn Y at a place called CMI. I was living the fun single life, even though i may have had a few boyfriends at the time.
Places i have lived- Billings Montana, Sandy, Draper, Sugarhouse, Murray, Lehi Utah, and Long Island New York
Things on my to do list- Get a new Social Security card with my married name so i can get a new driver's license with my married name as well. Get contacts so i can pass the eye exam at the DMV to get a new license. It has taken way too long for me to do this! Get a much needed massage, which i am doing today, yay!
Bad Habits- I have mentioned this one before, picking the skin on my fingers until they bleed and picking my split ends. Nagging Chuck for no reason. Drinking Diet Pepsi, which i am slowly quitting, it has been 2 weeks since i have bought one at the gas station and that is an amazing thing for me! I still drink 1-2 cans a day right now, but i will stop that soon. I hate to admit this, but i need to stop cleaning on Sunday's, i just have a hard time with that one, oops.
Places i have worked- First Health, ZCMI, CMI, Orthodontist office in NY, North Shore Health System in NY, HealthCare Partners in NY, and StaffCare.
5 things you do not know about me- This is a hard one. I am really insecure and negative about myself for no reason. It is not easy for me to make new friends partly because of this. I love to watch reality tv about solving murders and interventions of people addicted to drugs. I also love listening to Dr. Laura on talk radio. I used to have panic attacks in movie theatres, cars, airplanes, and the temple, thank goodness there is medication for that. I take a shower every day, but i only wash my hair twice a week. i hope you all do not think i am gross, i just have hair that does not get greasy and i work out every day so why bother.

Andi and Ander

I thought it was so cute that Ander was sitting on his Elmo chair on the couch playing with Andi's cell phone when we got home from our date. Ander could have cared less that we were home, he just wanted to keep playing with the cell phone. We love that we have Andi to watch our little guy because he sure loves her!

Carousel Ride

We went to the mall today to get some much needed clothes for Chuck and while we were there we took Ander on his first carousel ride. He was pretty nervous and didn't smile once, but i sure thought it was fun. We are having my neice Andi watch Ander for us today while Chuck and i go to a movie, since it has been so long and we are dying to get out and have some alone time. I guess today will be our Valentine's day celebration, i am very excited!

Adam's Baptism

Lastnight we had the privilege of going to my nephew Adam's baptism. You could tell Adam was so excited, he had the sweetest look on his face. We had to leave right after Adam was confirmed because Ander had really bad diarrhea and i pulled a muscle in my back for the second time in 2 weeks. I spoke too soon yesterday morning when i said that Ander was not sick, it is starting to become really shocking at how much Ander is sick, poor fella. I was so glad that we were still able to go to the baptism though, i did not want to miss it! Good job Adam, you are one of us now! :)

New Ride Pic

I hope no one thinks i am bragging about our new car. We are just really excited and thankful for everything that we get and i also want my parents to be able to see it. I just love that i feel so safe driving now and Chuck feels alot manly-er driving it too (which i really want him to feel). :)

The Joys of Parenting Part 2...

When you see this sweet happy face after your baby wakes up from his nap. Nothing is better! And if you are wondering, Ander is no longer sick besides having runny nose, yay!
