Late Turkey Day Post...

I just had to post these pics of me making my mom's recipe of homemade noodles and rolls, so my mom can see i made them. I did have alot of help from Karen (Chuck's mom) and all the food turned out great. Too bad these are the only pics that were taken that day, everything was just too crazy. i am so thankful for Chuck's mom and all the hard work she put into making our Thanksgiving dinner and for all the times she makes dinners for us on Sunday's. She is such a great chef and a great mother in law and grandma. I also realized how much effort my mom and dad have made for us in the past for our dinners and i am so thankful again for them.

Sick Again and Thankful!

The only thing i have to write about today is that my little guy is sick again! I took Ander to the dr. yesterday because he had a fever, was grabbing his ears, and had a bad cough. The dr. just said that he had some fluid around one of his ears and to give him more ear drops. The tubes are supposed to help fluid leak from the ears, so i hope this will not be a problem in the future. Ander is also getting 6 new teeth, so he is pretty miserable right now and he does not seem to be feeling any better today. I know kids get sick alot, but this kid seems to always be sick! I feel so bad for him!
The pic of him is after he woke up yesterday and i thought he looked sick and had cute bed head.
I also wanted to say today that i am so thankful for my parents. I am so happy that they are able to be missionaries at such an awesome place and that they are having such an amazing experience. I am really going to miss them on Thanksgiving this year and i hope they will have a good time while they travel to Kauai for the holiday. My parents are the best examples and they are such wonderful parents and grandparents! I love you guys more than words can say!!

I have been Tagged by Trista and Angie...

I am supposed to write down 8 things that people do not know about me, which is pretty hard. If most of you already know these things, oh well, i tried. :)
1- I never went to college, except for 2 classes at Salt Lake Community College, but I have had 9 jobs.
2- I am the same as Trista, I love to pick things, such as my split ends, fingers, toes, Chuck's ears and hairs on his back and eyebrows. I also always have to make sure Ander never has boogers or long fingernails. I am quite obsessed, and i have bleeding and sore fingers most of the time and hair all over the place. I really am trying to stop, i need help. :)
3- I love to work out and read! I try to work out and read every day, it makes me a happy girl.
4- I hate being late anywhere! I get so nervous and my heart starts pounding if i am even 2 minutes late. I guess this could be a good thing, but it is also stressful and a waste of worry, since i usually have to wait for people or for things to start.
5- I am terrified of most fun things, like amusement parks, flying, scuba diving or anything in the ocean. I do like rock climbing, hiking, snowboarding, rollerblading, and riding on 4 wheelers though, so i guess i am not afraid of everything.
6- I have broken my wrists three times and have almost had my arm cut off under my armpit. I was also run over my a car in a driveway when i was little, but my brother Jon pulled me out and saved my life before it ran over my whole body.
7- I love, love, love food, especially sweets! (who doesn't) I am completely addicted to Oatmeal Teddy Grahams, Fudge Graham Zone Bars, and any kind of cookie or dessert. I eat all three of these things every day, that is why i have to work out. :) I am also addicted to Diet Pepsi, which i hate, but i thought i would add.
8- I am pretty much a home body, i don't like going out much after 7 pm and i almost never go to bed after 10:00. This means i also never sleep past 7:30 in the morning. I am a loser, i know. :)
Now you may all have learned something new about me or maybe not. Have a great day!!

A Fun Day after Surgery!

Ander and I met Jenn, Trista, Angie, and their kids at the Children's Museum at Gateway today and we had so much fun! I was a little nervous to take Ander since he had his surgery yesterday, but he seemed totally normal and he had a blast so i am so happy that we went. We also went to California Pizza Kitchen after for dinner and it was so yummy! I love hanging out with my friends and their kids, i am so thankful for all of them! I am trying to list things that i am thankful for this month because of Thanksgiving and i am following Jenn's example on her blog. (i also want to mention that i really need to customize my blog better, but i am just too lazy, hopefully i will soon)

Our Amazing Little Patient!!

This morning at 5:30 am we took our little sweetie to Primary Children's Hospital to have tubes put in his ears. Ander was playing with the other kids who were also there to get tubes while we were waiting and he was being so good. When the dr. came to take him back i started crying a little because it was so sad to see him taken away knowing that he could be scared or that something could happen to him. I was so nervous and had every bad thought imaginable and then the surgery was over in just 15 minutes and we were already able to go back to be with him. The surgery went so well and of course, i worried for no reason. I cannot imagine if he had something really serious that he had to have surgery for, i would be a wreck, i do not know how people deal with that. Ander cried alot after he woke up when we went to go get him, but once we got in the car, he fell asleep and did not cry the rest of the day, what a trooper. Ander acted normal all day and ate the same as always, so i feel so blessed that he is doing well and that he did not have any bad side affects. I forgot to mention that the dr. checked Ander before the surgery and of course, he had double ear infections, so i am sooo glad that he got the tubes and i hope they help him to feel much better in the future. i am so thankful that Chuck was able to come with me for support, i needed it very much, i am such a wimp. I am also thankful that i was able to have my family over for dinner lastnight and that my brother Chris and Chuck were able to give Ander a blessing, which i think can always help. I am one blessed woman and i am so happy the surgery is over with (even though i know it really was not that big of a deal). Here are some pics of our little patient before and after the surgery. (Note the cute little hospital pajamas and Ander crying and covering his face in his teddy bear while i was holding him, so sad. :(

Headband Lover and Scaredy Cat!

Ander loves to get in my drawer in the bathroom and put my black headband on his head or just play around with it. Chuck is a little scared that this could lead to homosexual tendencies, but we all know he is just playing. :) Also, Ander is such a little scaredy cat! He is afraid of the blow dryer, the vacuum, the swings and slides at the park, and many other things. I guess he takes after his mother, let's just hope it doesn't last. That is it for now, we are a little boring at the Barkley household lately, hopefully more exciting things will be coming up in the next few weeks. Here are some pics of Ander with my headband on, what a cutie kid, ya just gotta love him to pieces!

Hanging out at Trista's!

Lastnight we went to Trista's to hang out with Jenn, Angie, Becky, and their kids, it was a fun time, we need to do it more! Ander loved playing in Beckham's litte car, too bad Beckham and Ander were too tired to play together, since they both missed their naps. We loved seeing Jenn's new baby boy Kody too, he is such a cute kid!
